Peoria City Council round-up

  The City of Peoria is revising the boundaries of its Central Business Tax Increment Financing District. That works to the benefit of other taxing bodies like Peoria School District 150. The School System will receive at least $500,000 more in tax revenue under the new boundaries. That’s property tax money that would have otherwise been captured in the TIF District fund for 35 years.

State pension committee meets for first time Thursday

The latest effort to reach a compromise on a state pension overhaul involves a special panel of lawmakers.   The Illinois House and Senate conference committee was created to work out a deal that has, so far, eluded the legislature. GOP representative Jil Tracy of Mount Sterling is one of four Republicans on the ten-member panel which meets for the first time Thursday. She thinks they can come to an agreement:
