IL Republicans at crossroads

More than a hundred Republicans heard from their party leaders and top candidates at the State Central Committee and County Chairmen’s Association meeting on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in Springfield, Ill.

Illinois Republicans are at a crossroads. The party has a historically small number of people in the Illinois Senate, and a small minority in the House, too. But Republicans are also hopeful about 20-14, when they have the chance to win back the Illinois governor's office, ending 12 years of Democratic rule. Party leaders and candidates rallied in Springfield Thursday at the Illinois State Fair. Economist stresses District 150, business and city cooperation

2,500 staff and teachers at District 150 gather for the annual Back-to-School pep rally at Bradley University's Renaissance Coliseum.

District 150 and area businesses need to jointly-invest in programs to help students. That’s the message from author and economic futurist Rebecca Ryan. She spoke to more than 100 business people at Peoria City Hall. Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says Ryan’s advice reminds all groups to make pro-active investments in programs that help students:

Peoria child found dead in a refrigerator
