Ameren restores power to most customers following storm

Ameren Illinois officials say they’ve restored service to a majority of those impacted by Sunday’s storms. More than 15-hundred crews and contractors were called to the area after tornadoes ripped through central Illinois.

Ameren officials say there are still a few isolated outages that could be taken care of as soon as today. More than 148,000 customers were without power in Ameren’s service area following the storms.

Ameren officials are reminding homeowners that equipment attached directly to a house, such as a conduit or the meter base, is the responsibility of the homeowner. Ameren may not be able to restore service until the equipment is repaired by a qualified electrician. More information is available at
