Charter Oak Primary School parents want District 150 to explain its testing and discipline policies. The State Board of Education is investigating the school for testing irregularities involving special education students. The state board says the district must have local discipline and testing policies on hand if testing is questioned. Charter Oak parents filed a Freedom of Information Request asking for copies of testing policies as required by the state. The district says it does not have records related to the request.
The district says in a report that special education teachers at Charter Oak violated state testing rules the last three years. It says the school’s principal also allegedly failed to report spikes in the Illinois Standards Achievement Test scores.
