Deere and Company sells majority share of landscape business

Two months after it was first announced, Deere and Company has sold a majority share of its landscape supply and distribution business. Monday, the company announced the completion of the sale of 60 per cent of Deere Landscapes.

The buyer, for 465 million dollars, is the buy-out firm Clayton, Dubilier, and Rice which has offices in New York and London. Its other investments include Culligan, ServiceMaster, Hertz, and David's Bridal. 

The largest wholesale supplier and distributor of landscape products, Deere landscapes is based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and employs about 2,000 people at 400 locations across the US.
