Dillard calling for changes to public transit oversight in Chicago

Mar 12, 2014

State Senator Kirk Dillard is calling for some big changes in public transit oversight around Chicago.

Dillard is one of four Republicans running for Illinois governor. He says there should be more coordination between Metra and the Chicago Transit Authority.

"We need to really revisit how our mass transit is governed. I think there’s a lot of waste and I think there’s some real coordination issues."

Last year, there were calls to abolish the Regional Transportation Authority which oversees the CTA, Metra, and Pace.

Dillard is running against Treasurer Dan Rutherford, State Senator Bill Brady, and venture capitalist Bruce Rauner.
