East Peoria Police Department to crack down on St. Patrick's Day
The East Peoria Police Department says its stepping up patrols to crack down on drunk drivers and unbuckled motorists this Saint Patrick’s Day.
Starting March 14th running through the holiday on March 17th, the department will be working overtime to catch drunk drivers and may conduct roadside safety checks. East Peoria police says they will also ticket motorists not wearing seat belts, particularly at night when drivers use safety belts the least. The department reminds everyone to designate a sober driver for the Saint Patrick’s Day festivities and to have the phone numbers for local taxi companies on hand.
