Flooding causes road closures across tri-county area
Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution on the roads as flood watches and warnings are in place in numerous locations throughout the area. Weather-related road closures in IDOT District 4 include:
-IL 9 between Canton and Bushnell west of IL 97 in Fulton County
-IL 9 Good Hope to Bushnell
-IL 17 at the bridge in the town of Sparland
-IL 17 at Spoon River
-Keithsburg Rd S of IL 17
-IL 180 at Williamsfield viaduct in Knox County
-IL 8 east of I-74 in Peoria County
-IL 26 at Batner Rd in Marshall County
-IL 91 at Camp Run Creek in Stark County
-IL 116 W of London Mills
-IL 164 Oquawka
-IL 29 S of Henry
-IL 89 Putnam Co S of IL River
-US 67 S of Macomb
-US 150 Knoxville
-US 136 E of Macomb
-US 34 at IL 94
-US 34 E of Biggsville
-US 24 at Adams/McKinley bartonville
The Peoria County Highway Department has also closed Trivoli Bridge, between Glasford-Canton Road and Garret Road due to flooding. Dogtown Lane between Tiber Creek and West Meehan Road and Pottstown Road Bridge is closed. The Farmington Road bridge over Kickapoo Creek is closed. Koerner Road, south of Charter Oak Road is now closed. There is no thru traffic between Route 8 and Charter Oak.
Taylor Road is closed from Wildlife Prairie Park to Route 8. Kickapoo Edwards Road is closed from Route 8 to Valley View Road. Farmington Road is closed between Creek Road and Swords.
In Woodford County, Illinois Route 26 is closed for 13 miles beginning at Route 116.
In the city of Peoria, the intersection at Allen Road & Alta Lane is closed due to weather damage until further notice. Effective immediately, this intersection will be closed.
