Giant duck hatching on East Peoria Riverfront
A giant yellow duck is the guest of honor at a party this evening on the East Peoria Riverfront.
The event is part of the celebration of the 26th annual Duck Race fundraiser for the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
Mather Herm is the Executive Director of the center. “It is a 65 foot inflatable duck. It’s the largest in the world and it just arrived and it will be hatched at a party from five to seven. The whole community is invited to come down. There’ll be food, balloons, music. Just a fun way to see this huge thing go up in the air.”
The giant yellow inflatable duck remains stationed in the Riverfront Park behind Walmart until the Duck Race next Saturday. Tomorrow night there is a family movie night on the Riverfront. The Legos Movie is on the big screen at dusk with popcorn and drinks.
The Duck Race is Saturday, August 23rd. The grand prize for the race is five-thousand dollars.
