Governor Pat Quinn announced today nearly one million dollars is being invested in Peoria and Pekin airport improvements.
The $996,000 dollar capital investment is for construction projects at Mt. Hawley Airport and the Pekin Municipal Airport. Peoria politicians see the effort as a selling point for businesses to come to central Illinois and a way to create jobs in the community.
The investment is part of Governor Pat Quinn’s Illinois Jobs Now! program, which aims to improve the Illinois economy. It is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history and one of the largest in the nation.
