Hope swings in Washington

A new Washington, Illinois based mission project aims to build 100 swing sets for families who lost their homes in the November 17th tornadoes. The effort is called “Hope Swings in Washington” and is sponsored by the Crossroads United Methodist Church. The seven week long mission will have youth groups from Florida, Missouri and Illinois rotate to build about 15 swing sets a week. It’s estimated that hundreds of middle and high schoolers who participate will also help with ongoing citywide recovery and cleanup efforts. The first week of building begins June 8th and runs through the end of July.

Families can apply online to receiving one of the swing sets.
