The conference brings more than 400 community leaders together to share neighborhood improvement programs. It includes community leaders from five midwest states. At-Large Peoria City Councilman Ryan Spain helped bring the conference to Central Illinois. He says the conference will help the city improve from the neighborhood level up.
“The reason it’s important to our city council, to our neighborhoods, is the exchange of information that’s provided by taking advantage of best practices in neighborhoods throughout the entire midwest.”
Spain says previous conferences have been resourceful in helping develop some of Peoria’s current ordinances.
