The Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette hotel will open its doors Friday.
The state-of-the-art development features a business center, a 24-hour fitness facility and the upscale restaurant Table 19.
It will also contain 19,000 square feet of event space. President of EM Properties Gary Matthews says he is confident the Pere Marquette will host larger conferences and conventions. There will also be a climate-controlled skywalk connecting the hotel to the Peoria Civic Center.
The renovation project was supposed to be completed March 1. EM Properties will have to pay more than $120,000 to the City of Peoria for the late opening.
The $93 million Pere Marquette makeover will also include the construction of a Courtyard by Marriott opening next spring.
