Illinois Governor Pat Quinn praised Lisa Madigan’s service as attorney general Tuesday. That comes after Madigan decided not to challenge Quinn in next year’s Democratic primary for governor. Madigan said she wouldn’t run since her father plans to continue serving as Speaker of the Illinois House. Quinn said little about Madigan’s decision when asked about it by reporters Tuesday:
Well, you know, Lisa said that yesterday. That’s what she wanted to say. I certainly respect her work,” Quinn says.
Quinn has said he had issues with one family serving in the governor and House Speaker roles. Quinn faces former U.S. Commerce Secretary Bill Daley in the Democratic primary.
