Quinn touts money for Bradley University, Eureka College

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is touting funding for three colleges in the region. He announced nearly $5 million in investments for Bradley University, Eureka College and Illinois Wesleyan University.  That includes $700,000 to renovate Eureka’s main science building. Eureka President David Arnold says the grant is part of five-million-dollars to redo the century-old building:

“If you look at the partnership between the public money and the private money, it becomes an accelerator.  We’re able to start our construction almost a year ahead of when we thought we would be able to start our project,” Arnold says.

More than $90 million was set aside this year for private colleges as part of the state’s capital construction programs. Quinn announced the funding at Bradley University including three-million-dollars for Bradley’s Westlake Hall.  Renovations to Westlake Hall were complete and the building reopened more than a year ago.
