Non-emergency road work will stop at 3:00p.m. Friday afternoon and continue through Monday. That’s to reduce congestion and improve traffic as motorists hit the roads this weekend.
Drivers can still expect to see some of the same lane closures they’ve encountered through the summer. That includes for the I-74 and I-155 improvement project around Morton in Tazewell County.
The ramp from westbound I-474 to IL-116, and the ramp from IL-116 to westbound 474 will remain closed in Peoria County.
Fulton County motorists can expect one lane of traffic along 116 about two miles east of the IL 97 and IL 116 junction. Il 41 about one-mile south of Avon is also reduced to one lane.
