Storm clean up tips for East Peoria residents

The city of East Peoria is giving residents some tips as they clean up from Sunday’s storms. Minor debris such as brush and limbs that were blown into yards will be picked up by the Public Works Department. They can also be burned as long as they don’t contain any house debris. Burning must take place during daylight hours and on non-windy days through November 30th. Trees larger than five inches in diameter must be hauled away.

Building debris can NOT be burned. Residents should document their losses with photos and are encouraged to get a dumpster for cleanup and removal.

City permits are also required before any demolition or building repair work can take place. Permit fees will be waved for homes damaged in the storm.

The city is also posting information on assistance for those impacted by the storm at www.cityofeastpeoria.com
