Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.

Monday, September 25th through Tuesday, September 26th

Motorists can expect a lane reduction this coming Monday & Tuesday on the westbound side of the McCluggage Bridge. The lane closure is expected to be in place during business hours and may cause delays.

 

Through Mid December

Northmoor Road in Peoria will be closed at Rosemead Dr. and the Exposition Gardens entrance. Crews will be constructing underground utilities and a new signalized intersection. No traffic, in any direction will be allowed across the intersection. Traffic should follow the marked detour routes via Willow Knolls Road or Glen Avenue. Neighborhood traffic, buses and emergency vehicles have special access points, should allow extra time to get to and from their destination on Northmoor Road.

 

Through Thursday, September 21st

The traffic pattern on Tractor Drive in East Peoria is shifting at West Washington Street (Illinois 40) to the eastbound lanes. This will result in a reduction in lane width. Motorist are asked to use extreme caution driving in the area.

 

Through September

The Peoria County Highway Department is doing erosion repair work on Mossville Road a mile east of IL Route 40. Motorists are urged to slow down through the work zone and to watch for flaggers.

 

Through September

Intermittent lane and ramp closures conitnue along IL 8/IL 116 (Cedar Street Extension) from the Illinois River to U.S. 24/IL 29 (Main Street) in East Peoria. Crews are completing patching and resurfacing work. It’s expected to be completed by the end of September.

 

Through mid-November

One lane in both directions of I-155 will be closed at IL 9 near Tremont for bridge repair work.

 

Through October

Illinois Route 29 will be reduced to one lane at Senachwine Creek, just north of Putnam in Putnam County to allow for a bridge reconstruction project. One-way traffic on IL 29 will be controlled by signals while the work is being completed.

 

Through into September  

Lane closure are in place on IL 41 between Monmouth Boulevard in Galesburg and the north end of Abingdon. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. The milling and paving work is expected to be completed in September.

 

Through October

Motorists should be cautious driving near the intersection of IL 40 [West Washington Street] and River Road in East Peoria. Expect lane reductions, possibly adding delays. The work will include adding a second right-turn lane from River Road onto IL 40 toward the Bob Michel Bridge, updating traffic signals, sidewalk additions and and patching. The I-DOT upgrades are expected to be completed by mid-October.

 

Through November

The intersection of Alta Lane and Radnor Road is closed. The City is removing pavement for the construction of a new roundabout. Marked detours are in place. The closure is expected to continue through November.

 

Through October

Trivoli Road between Todd School Road and Glasford-Canton Road is closed to all traffic for construction of a new bridge crossing at East Branch Copperas Creek. The construction is about half a mile north of Glasford-Canton Road. Detour signs posted.

 

Through November

Work on the Harvard Avenue Project in Peoria is expected to continue now through the end of November, weather permitting. The road will be closed to through traffic from Shady Oak Drive to Purdue Street. A northbound only lane will remain open for local residents.

 

Through November   

One lane will be closed in both directions of I-74 between the Spoon River and IL-78 for resurfacing, shoulder widening and drainage work.

 

Through November

Traffic on the Shade-Lohmann Bridge going over the Illinois River is being shifted through November. Both directions of I-474 traffic will use the eastbound span of the bridge - with one lane in each direction. A barrier wall will remain in place. The shift is necessary for steel repairs and bridge maintenance. // I-DOT urges motorists to slow down and use caution through all work zones.
