Lane closures will be in place along Knoxville Avenue between Pennsylvania Avenue to Corrington Avenue beginning Monday, May 7th. The closures will last until July 1st, and are necessary so that IDOT crews can perform resurfacing work on Knoxville Avenue as well as minor sidewalk and traffic signal upgrades. Traffic will be restricted to a 9-foot wide lane during this time. Through traffic is encouraged to use I-74 to U.S. 150 or Illinois 29 to U.S. 150 as alternate routes.
Construction on Old Galena Road from Cedar Hills Drive to Boy Scout Road continues. The total reconstruction of the roadway is expected to be complete in late November. Motorists are advised to watch for flaggers and lane closures and expect delays. Weekly construction updates are posted on the Peoria County Highway Department’s website.
Through Late Fall Portions of the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport airport entrance road will be reduced to one lane. Passengers can access the overflow lot and Premier Lot via a temporary entrance during construction. Signs, directing traffic, will be posted.
IDOT announces that traffic patterns have changed on the Shade-Lohmann Bridge. The changes are necessary for crews to repaint the structure that carries eastbound I-474/U.S. 24 over the Illinois River between Bartonville and Creve Coeur. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the westbound bridge, and lane closures may also be in effect. Please drive with caution and watch for workers.
Akron Road between IL Route 40 and IL Route 91, will be closed to all traffic for construction of a new bridge crossing a branch of Kickapoo Creek.

Northmoor Road in Peoria is closed to all traffic east of the intersection with Rosemead Drive to west of the Richwoods High School entrance, just west of University Street. Local traffic will NOT be allowed on that portion of Northmoor while the new road is under construction. Through traffic should use the marked detour.
