Friday, August 18 to Monday, August 21

The following closures are scheduled near the Cedar Street Bridge over the Illinois River:

  • Eastbound Cedar Street will be closed from Washington Street in Peoria to U-S 24/IL 29 (Main Street) in East Peoria.
  • The Cedar Street ramps to/from Edmund Street will be closed.
  • The ramps from eastbound Cedar Street to northbound and southbound U-S 24/IL 29 (Main Street) in East Peoria will be closed.
  • The right lane of northbound U.S. 24 / IL 29 (Main Street) in East Peoria will be closed at Cedar Street.

Monday, August 14th through August 25th

Illinois Route 98 will be/is closed east of Parkway Drive, near North Pekin for slope repair work. Detour route signs are posted.

 

Through August

Expect lane reduction delays on Northmoor Road near Richwoods High School in Peoria west to Imperial Drive through August. Flagmen will control one lane of traffic at a time in the work zone during the day. It’s part of the $10.5 Million Northmoor Road Improvement Project. Motorist should allow extra time or consider taking an alternate route. Addition road construction shifts are expected in September.

 

Through September

Intermittent lane and ramp closures remains in place on IL 8/IL 116 (Cedar Street Extension) from the Illinois River to U.S. 24/IL 29 (Main Street) in East Peoria. Crews are completing patching and resurfacing work.

Monday, Aug. 14th through September 8th

The intersection of Main and Walnut in Mapleton will be closed for a culvert replacement.  A detour route will be posted.

 

Monday, Aug. 14th through mid-November

One lane in both directions of I-155 will be closed at IL 9 near Tremont for bridge repair work.

 

Monday, August 21 through Friday, Sept. 8

Intermittent lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-39 in Woodford County for concrete patching. The lane closures will not exceed five miles in length at any given time.

 

Through October

Illinois Route 29 will be reduced to one lane at Senachwine Creek, just north of Putnam in Putnam County to allow for a bridge reconstruction project. One-way traffic on IL 29 will be controlled by signals while the work is being completed.

 

Through Friday, Sept. 8.

Intermittent lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-39 in Woodford County for concrete patching. The lane closures will not exceed five miles in length at any given time.

 

Through into September  

Lane closure are in place on IL 41 between Monmouth Boulevard in Galesburg and the north end of Abingdon. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. The milling and paving work is expected to be completed in September.

 

Through October

Motorists should be cautious driving near the intersection of IL 40 [West Washington Street] and River Road in East Peoria. Expect lane reductions, possibly adding delays. The work will include adding a second right-turn lane from River Road onto IL 40 toward the Bob Michel Bridge, updating traffic signals, sidewalk additions and and patching. The I-DOT upgrades are expected to be completed by mid-October.

 

Through July

The Sheridan Road and McClure Avenue intersection are closed as part of Sheridan Road Improvement Project. The closure is expected to last until the end of July, weather permitting.

 

July 11th through August

Daytime traffic is reduced to one lane on Northmoor Road between Imperial Drive and University Street. Crews are doing utility repairs that are expected to continue until early to mid-August.  

 

Monday, July 10th through November

The intersection of Alta Lane and Radnor Road is closed. The City is removing pavement for the construction of a new roundabout. Marked detours are in place. The closure is expected to continue through November.

 

Monday, July 10th through Saturday, July 15

Near Mapleton, Wheeler Road is closed at the railroad tracks south of US 24/IL 09. Crews are repairing the railroad crossing surface.

 

Through July 28th

In Bartonville, construction at the intersection of Lancaster Road and Pfeiffer Road in Bartonville is expected to continue through the end of July.  The locally-funded project consists of intersection and sidewalk improvements to allow for safer access to Oak Grove West School.  I-Dot is reminding motorists to slow down in the work zone and be prepared to stop for flaggers.

 

Through mid-July

Intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-74 will be in effect between Exit 54 near Knoxville and Exit 88 in Peoria for a guardrail replacement project.

 

Through July

The Sheridan Road and McClure Avenue intersection are closed as part of Sheridan Road Improvement Project. The closure is expected to last until the end of July, weather permitting.

 

Through August 16th

South Folkers Ave. in Peoria is closed to North and Southbound traffic between W. Fremont and W. Latrobe for road repairs. Detour signs are posted.

 

Until August

Intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-74 will be in effect at the Heinz Lane, Thousand Dollar Road, IL-78, Knox Station Road, and Knox Road bridges for bridge painting. The lane closures will be in effect at one location at a time.

 

Through October

Trivoli Road between Todd School Road and Glasford-Canton Road is closed to all traffic for construction of a new bridge crossing at East Branch Copperas Creek. The construction is about half a mile north of Glasford-Canton Road. Detour signs posted.

 

Through November

Work on the Harvard Avenue Project in Peoria is expected to continue now through the end of November, weather permitting. The road will be closed to through traffic from Shady Oak Drive to Purdue Street. A northbound only lane will remain open for local residents.

 

Through November   

One lane will be closed in both directions of I-74 between the Spoon River and IL-78 for resurfacing, shoulder widening and drainage work.

 

Through November

Traffic on the Shade-Lohmann Bridge going over the Illinois River is being shifted through November. Both directions of I-474 traffic will use the eastbound span of the bridge - with one lane in each direction. A barrier wall will remain in place. The shift is necessary for steel repairs and bridge maintenance. // I-DOT urges motorists to slow down and use caution through all work zones.

North Dries Lane from West Gilbert Avenue to West Willcox Avenue in Peoria is closed for reconstruction.
