Two IL Congressmen question Sebelius during hearing

Two Illinois Republican Congressmen are among those critical of problems with the HealthCare.Gov website, nearly a month after its launch.

Both questioned U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius during Wednesday’s lengthy hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  John Shimkus of Collinsville called pricing on the website ‘misleading’.  He complained that anyone under 50 years old who clicks on ‘preview plans and costs’ sees the price for someone who’s 27.  He says everyone over 50 sees a quote for a 50-year old:

“When did you make that decision?”  Secy:  “That was decided by the team.”  Shimkus:  “By who? Who made the – the problem with this whole debate is, you all won’t tell us who made the decisions?” Secy:  I can tell you, I did not design it. “ Shimkus:  “So who?  Who made the decision on the 27-year old quote for someone who’s 50?”  Secy: I just said I will get you that information.”  Shimkus:  Thank you.”

Republican Adam Kinzinger of Channahon asked Sebelius who in President Obama’s administration had knowledge of the website’s problems… and where funding for fixes would come from.
