Work on Centennial Drive complete

Nov 1, 2013

Local, state and federal officials held an official ribbon cutting to mark the completion of Centennial Drive.  The more than three-mile stretch of road connects East Peoria and Washington.  East Peoria Mayor Dave Mingus says the six-phase project is vital to both cities:

“We do utilize each other’s social, retail and culture events, and this just keeps the traffic going in the direction of both ways to open the corridor for our communities,” Mingus says.

The Centennial Drive project included road repairs and widening efforts.  It cost more than $7 million to improve the roadway during the last 14-years.
