Risinger shares priorities for Planning Commission

Former state senator Dale Risinger says he hopes to renew focus on some lagging Tri-County Regional Planning Commission projects. The commission last week appointed Risinger as its interim executive director. The commission has completed a corridor study to build a proposed Eastern Bypass.  That project would connect Interstate 74 with Illinois Route 6 in the north-east-region of Peoria. Risinger says he wants to focus on selecting a proposed route for the bypass:

Dale Risinger to lead Regional Planning Commission

The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission approved a former state senator as the group's interim director.  The commission approved Dale Risinger to head the group as it searches for a permanent replacement.  Risinger has spent years working for the Illinois Department of Transportation.  Tri County chair Larry Whitaker says Risinger’s experience as a state senator can also help the commission renew its focus:

Peoria Judge Risinger reassigned over sentencing notes

10th Judicial Circuit Judge Michael Risinger is reassigned to civil court over concerns about his notes regarding his sentencing philosophy.  Chief Judge Michael Brandt says Risinger shared his rough agenda notes with lawyers and others ahead of a meeting about misdemeanor court.  One of the notes referenced a tie-in with the race and dress of the defendant when sentencing.  Risinger says his note should not stand alone, and he explained during the meeting that a sentencing hearing should take into account special circumstances with the defendant.
