Illinois' unemployment rate last month was the second-highest in the country. More than nine-percent of people looking for work couldn't find it. IPR'S Amanda Vinicky reports.
The job market improved in parts of Illinois; unemployment fell in seven of the state's 12 metro areas. That includes Champaign-Urbana, the Metro East and Springfield. But other regions saw sharp hikes, including in Danville, Decatur and Peoria. Each of those regions saw unemployment rates rise by more than a percentage point.
