Pantries feel effects of food stamp reductions

Food pantries and homeless shelters say they're beginning to notice repercussions of a reduction in food stamps that will take effect this Friday.  A temporary hike in benefits that kicked in during the recession expires this week.  IPR’s Amanda Vinicky has more.

Republican Congressman Rodney Davis of Taylorville says President Obama is premature in threatening to veto the House’s version of the farm bill. The White House says $2 billion dollars in annual cuts to the food stamp program in the House’s plan goes too far, and will leave some Americans hungry.
