Influenza has killed an eight year old girl in McLean County. This is only the second child death related to flu in the state this season. Kera Simon is a spokeswoman for the McLean County Health Department:
"In this case it was not a novel or new flu virus. It was influenza-B that contributed to the death. But, there were other medical circumstances involved. And the death has been classified by the Illinois Department of Public Health as flu related."
