United Way campaign breaks records

The Heart of Illinois United Way broke records for its 2013 campaign. The campaign raised more than $10.8 million.  That’s a 2.5 percent increase from last year. The worst words of 2013

Once again the English language has been under assault during the past year, but riding to the rescue for the 39th year are the "word watchers" from Lake Superior State University in Michigan. They've just issued their latest list of words and phrases "banned from the Queen's English for mis-use, over use, and general uselessness."   IPR’s Herb Trix reports.

Peoria County administrator reflects on 2013
