East Peoria approves soil study costs for proposed apartment complex site

The East Peoria City Council approved an engineering study that looks at building a residential complex in the Levee District. The city will spend up to $15,000 to Midwest Engineering for required soil sampling on the property. City Commissioner Gary Densberger says he has confidence the proposed development will move forward with a multi-unit apartment building on the Civic Triangle land:

For some, closure after demolition of tornado-damaged apartment complex

Apartment blaze displaces Peoria residents

The City of Peoria plans to demolish an apartment complex following two fires earlier this week.  Crews responded to two reports of fire in the attic at 109 Northeast Roanoke on Monday and Tuesday.  Brad Pierson is an arson investigator for the Peoria Fire Department.
