Considering Options For The Peoria Boat Club

The future of a decades-old boat club in Peoria remains uncertain as the River Trails Apartment project moves forward.  The project would force the Peoria Boat Club to relocate part of its operation:

The Peoria City Council approved zoning changes for the River Trail Apartment project last night.  The move includes a road connection to Water Street:

The Peoria City Council finished a six hour meeting last night by moving forward a proposed apartment complex project along the riverfront. The vote followed public protest and council debate:

 Dozens of Peoria residents voiced concerns Tuesday about a proposed apartment complex along the Illinois River.

The East Peoria City Council approved an engineering study that looks at building a residential complex in the Levee District. The city will spend up to $15,000 to Midwest Engineering for required soil sampling on the property. City Commissioner Gary Densberger says he has confidence the proposed development will move forward with a multi-unit apartment building on the Civic Triangle land:

Apartment blaze displaces Peoria residents

The City of Peoria plans to demolish an apartment complex following two fires earlier this week.  Crews responded to two reports of fire in the attic at 109 Northeast Roanoke on Monday and Tuesday.  Brad Pierson is an arson investigator for the Peoria Fire Department. He says the building was deemed an unsafe structure following the two fires:
