Illinois lawmakers are considering a proposal that would allow out-of-state students to enroll in a Chicago-area school.

The Illinois Supreme Court has ruled that a state law banning guns within 1,000 feet of public park violates a Second Amendment right to self-defense.

Aurora officials will host a major ultimate Frisbee event this summer when USA Ultimate brings its 2018 Masters Championships to the area. The July 20-22 event will be at the Stuart Sports Complex in Montgomery.

USA Ultimate is the national governing body for the sport and a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee. It's working with the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau , the Aurora Area Sports Alliance , Ultimate Chicago and the Fox Valley Park District.

The Democratic candidates for Illinois governor are increasingly getting asked what they think of their own party’s leader, House Speaker Michael Madigan.

Caterpillar is contemplating moving machine production out of its Aurora facility. The move will be in addition to the global restructuring and cost savings plan announced in September 2015.

A mall in Aurora has started a new parental escort policy after eight teens were charged following a large fight the day after Christmas.  Police say eight teens face misdemeanor charges including battery, resisting police and disorderly conduct after the Dec. 26 fight. Authorities say it took 75 officers from Aurora and neighboring Chicago suburbs to regain control of the mall.

AURORA, Ill. (AP) - Online retailer Amazon.com plans to open new fulfillment centers in Illinois and Michigan.

 The announcements came Tuesday about the Seattle-based online retailer's plans. The company and Illinois officials said in a statement Amazon plans to open two fulfillment centers in Aurora, Illinois, and the project is expected to add more than 1,000 full-time jobs.

Casino towns outside Chicago are feeling the sting of a lack of a state budget because they're not receiving their share of gambling tax revenues.

An Illinois Army National Guard soldier and his cousin have pleaded not guilty to plotting terrorist attacks in support of the Islamic State group. 

A spokesman says the Illinois National Guard has revoked the security clearance of a member arrested on charges of conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State group.
