Many are giving pause to pay respect to Illinois State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka.  Her service to the State of Illinois spanned more than three decades in various roles, including the Illinois Senate, the Treasurer's Office and of course her current position of comptroller which she was reelected to last month.

Duck Race ducks on sale

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is hoping to sell 30-thousand ducks this year for its 26th annual Duck Race. The organization sold 25-thousand ducks last year. The money raised helps support various abuse prevention programs and provide services for victims of abuse.

Center for Prevention of Abuse kicks off sale of yellow ducks

Center for Prevention of Abuse Executive Director Martha Herm kicks off sale of ducks for annual Duck Race

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is hoping to sell five-thousand more ducks this year compared to last year for its 25th annual Duck Race. The organization sold 25-thousand ducks in 2012 to support its various abuse prevention programs including those that take place in tri-county area schools. The money also helps provide services for victims of abuse.
