Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has responded to the police-related shootings this week in other states. In a written statement, Rauner called the ambush attack on Dallas police "outrageous". Five officers were killed and others wounded following what had been a peaceful protest in that city. The protestors were upset over police fatally shooting black men in Minnesota and Louisiana.
