Gov. Quinn announces more than $1 million approved to help tornado victims

Tornado victims throughout Illinois are being approved for more than one-million dollars in federal aid. Governor Pat Quinn says the money is helping those impacted by the tornadoes that struck the state last month. The federal grants are paying for disaster-related expense like temporary home rental, home repairs, and replacement of damaged personal property.

FEMA closing Disaster Recovery Center in Peoria County

FEMA is closing its Disaster Recovery Center in Peoria County for flood victims to register for federal recovery assistance. The center is at Chillicothe Fire Hall. It’s closing Friday. People can still register with FEMA online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov
