Glen Oak Park has a new resident in the historic building that once served as the Park District office. The Junior League of Peoria and its community partners are cutting the ribbon and opening the new Children’s Museum and PlayHouse Friday after nearly 15-years in the making.

This week, we're talking with Lee Wenger, organizer and MC of the third annual "Peoria Public Radio in the Park" concert, a fund-raising event for this very station. The concert features selections from two upcoming community theatre productions and one past show, along with a couple of choirs and instrumentalists. We talk about some of the acts on the program, about the food that will available on site, and about the venue. Doors open tonight at 6:00 at the Glen Oak Park Amphitheatre; the concert gets underway at 7:00.

This week, we're talking with Lee Wenger, organizer of the concert Peoria Public Radio's Concert in the Park. He talks about how the event was first developed last year to replace the station's annual record sale. Like last year's concert, this year's event features a variety of musical entertainers -- cast members from musical theatre productions, two choirs, vocalists and instrumentalists. The concert is Friday night at 7:00 at the Glen Oak Amphitheatre. Gates open at 6:00.
