About two-dozen people participated in a Healthcare rally yesterday, across the street from Republican Congressman Darin LaHood’s office.

Governor Bruce Rauner and his fellow Republicans have spent years vilifying House Speaker Michael Madigan. Lately, the party has gone further… trying to sway House Democrats away from re-electing Madigan as their leader. 

A number of Illinois politicians continue to push the issue of of term limits.

It's less than two weeks before the March primary election.  Illinois lawmakers want to show voters they are working to resolve the state's financial issues.  But the House recessed yesterday until early next month.

Illinois House Democrats continued to advance budget measures that would restore funding to human services programs that the governor proposes cutting. 

A bill to legalize gay marriage in Illinois will be waiting for lawmakers when they head back to Springfield next month. The bill already passed the State Senate, but is stuck in the House. Now, proponents are in the midst of a lobbying campaign targeted at an unlikely group of lawmakers: House Republicans. But as Illinois Public Radio's Alex Keefe reports, there are big hurdles to getting GOP representatives to vote yes.
