The Illinois Emergency Management Agency takes the lead coordinating responses to disasters in the state. The number of tornadoes Sunday were historic for a single day in November. That means IEMA has an unprecedented number of tornado disaster locations to handle. Jonathon Monken is the Director of the agency. He talked about the nature of the situation after the WTVP Red Cross Disaster Relief telethon in Peoria. The event raised nearly a million dollars for the victims of the tornadoes that hit communities including Washington, East Peoria, Pekin, and Morton.
