Annual Illinois science fair moves to Decatur

  Millikin University in Decatur will host next year's statewide science fair. The the Illinois Junior Academy of Science will hold its annual competition at the private university in May 2016. The event is expected to bring 1,200 middle and high school students to the campus. This year the science fair was at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and last year it was at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Its long-term home had been the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but the event had to move due to renovation at the State Farm Center.

Interview about Millikin University professor’s past

A recent investigation by the Georgetown Advocate revealed the chair of the psychology department of Millikin University in Decatur spent six years in an institution being committed criminally insane. Professor James Saint James once went by the name Jim Wolcott.
