Oberweis: I was outspent in US Senate race

Nov 5, 2014

State Senator Jim Oberweis says he was simply outspent in his latest campaign run.  The dairy magnate lost to incumbent Dick Durbin for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat.  Oberweis sought the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in 2002 and 2004. He also ran for Illinois governor in 2006.  Oberweis doesn’t rule out running for another office in the future.

Republican State Senator Jim Oberweis is again looking to go to Washington.  Oberweis, who's from Sugar Grove, won his seat last year.  It was his first win after several failed attempts at public office, including runs for governor, Congress and U.S. Senate.  The magnate of Oberweis Dairy told opponents of same-sex marriage Wednesday at a rally in Springfield that he wants to try running for the U.S. Senate again.
