Peoria financial center opening to help disadvantaged residents

A national group aiming to rejuvenate struggling neighborhoods in Peoria is opening a Financial opportunity Center Tuesday. Peoria’s Local Initiatives Support Corporation, or LISC, is partnering with METEC Housing Resource Center to open the financial program. The goal of the Financial Opportunity Center is to provide long-term financial help and employment services to disadvantaged residents. LISC has 71 such centers across the country. The center officially opens Tuesday at the METEC building on West Krause Avenue in Peoria

IL Healthcare advocates tout new insurance marketplace

Revamped Peoria County law library opens doors

The law library and help center at the Peoria County Courthouse is officially re-opened following nearly $33,000 in renovations. Michael Brandt is the Chief Judge of the 10th Judicial Circuit. He says the renovations helped make it easier for people to use legal resources:
