Washington recovery begins

A Washington, Illinois resident tries to secures what's left of their home. There are some homes in the tornado's path with nothing left to secure.

Washington city officials are working with IDOT to clear the rubble out of the streets after Sundays E-F-4 tornado. Peoria Public Radio’s Tanya Koonce reports their trying to make access safer and easier: 

Residents who live in the hardest hit parts of Washington are being allowed to returned to their homes this morning through five o’clock this evening. Washington Police Chief Don Volk says East and West Traffic on Business Route 24 is running in the South lanes, one in each direction in.
