State Farm has spent more than $33 million since 2015 on updating its corporate campuses in Illinois.

A Chicago suburb is offering 10 free houses to people in Texas who have lost their homes to Harvey.

City of Chicago officials are moving ahead with the next phase of a $323 million makeover of Midway International Airport.  City officials are seeking proposals to overhaul terminal parking. The idea is to increase airport parking by about 1,400 more spaces. 

Willis Tower in Chicago is preparing for a $500 million face-lift under an ambitious plan Mayor Rahm Emanuel supports.  The renovations call for six levels of entertainment, restaurant and retail space, which could become an attraction for thousands of building employees and 1.7 million yearly visitors drawn to the observation deck on the 103rd floor.

Gov. Bruce Rauner says he and his wife are moving to a home on the Illinois State Fairgrounds while renovation work is done on the state's Executive Mansion.  Tours of the Illinois Executive Mansion will close to the public starting in January. The restoration project is expected to take 18 months.

An agreement shows that a privately funded renovation of the Illinois Executive Mansion in Springfield will follow wage and bidding rules required of traditional taxpayer-funded construction projects.

The organization leading efforts to renovate the Illinois governor's mansion says it received $1-million in donations last year.  The mansion has fallen into disrepair in recent years with a flooded basement, leaky roof and peeling paint.

Renovations have been done on the 1940s-era Varsity theater in Carbondale.  The theater has a new scrolling electronic marquee with LED lighting. Faded metal letters that spelled out Varsity have been replaced. They now are bright LED letters.

All of Peoria County's judges are back in their courtrooms nearly nine months after a pipe burst causing water damage.

The University of Illinois official in charge of a $165 million renovation of the State Farm Center says the project will be 80% complete when the arena opens on Dec. 2. 

Efforts will start this week in Springfield to raise private money to pay for a needed $8.8 million in renovations and repairs to the 160-year-old Illinois Executive Mansion. 

Work is underway to restore St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria. The $2.3 million project will repair extensive water damage, strip white paint off the stone altar and restore stained glass windows.

Lincoln's tomb to close for renovations

Abraham Lincoln's tomb in Springfield is slated to close for renovations starting in October. The city's Convention and Visitor's Bureau says the renovations will take place on the underground part of the monument, usually open to the public.
