Peoria police testing ShotSpotter system in East Bluff, North End

The Peoria Police Department is testing its Shot-Spotter technology in the East Bluff and Near North End Wednesday evening.  That requires police to discharge firearms in those areas starting around 8pm.  The tests will last about half-an-hour.  Police will notify residents when the tests begin and end in their areas.

Coroner: Teen killed by police in Illinois shot in back

An autopsy has revealed that a teenager who was killed by police in Illinois over the weekend was shot twice in the back.

Peoria health officials: get vaccine before flu peak

The Peoria City/County Health Department is urging residents to get a flu shot before next month.  Administrator Greg Chance says even though flu activity is low in the Peoria-area, the flu season often peaks in January.
