The extended Fourth of July weekend is expected to be one of the busiest periods of the year on Illinois's tollway with nearly 8 million vehicles on the system.

Trucks will be able to go the same speed as cars on urban interstate highways, now that the General Assembly has nixed a veto by Governor Pat Quinn.

Drivers will be able to legally go five miles an hour faster on most Illinois highways, beginning in January.  Governor Pat Quinn has signed a new law increasing the speed limit to 70 miles an hour.  IPR’s Amanda Vinicky has more.
