Peoria homicide suspect arrested in Georgia

Peoria Police are announcing an arrest in a homicide from earlier this month.  Darren D. Brown was arrested in Decatur, Georgia Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Violent Crime Task Force.  He was wanted in the shooting death of Peoria resident Nikko Smith.  Brown is the first arrest in a rash of homicides in recent weeks.

Peoria Police are looking for a suspect in a murder of a 25-year-old South Side resident earlier this month.  They say 22-year-old Darren D. Brown is wanted for first degree murder in the shooting death of Nikko Smith.  He's 165 lbs, six-foot with black hair and brown eyes. Earlier in the week police said that the latest string of homicides did not appear to be gang-related. 

Peoria Police are looking for an armed robbery suspect at the Marathon Gas Station on North University.  The suspect is a white male, about six-feet in height weighing 180 to 210 pounds.
