Year-long anti-bullying efforts underway in Pekin

Two junior high schools in Pekin are making bullying prevention a year-long effort. The Tazewell County Health Department is spearheading the education and prevention program with the help of two 25-thousand dollars grants. The goal is to prevent and reduce bullying.

Illinois Youth Survey shows surprising results

Teen drinking is on the rise in Tazewell County according to the 2014 Illinois Youth Survey.  More than 2,600 Tazewell County High School students took the survey. 

Some area organizations are reminding parents of the importance of speaking to their kids about substance abuse. National Prevention Week kicked off Sunday and continues through Saturday.

Tazewell County aims to reduce teen drinking

The Tazewell Teen Initiative is hosting a Town Hall meeting at Tremont High School Tuesday night. The event runs from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. and is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration. 


The Tazewell County Health Department is looking to add to state law for the body art industry. Peoria Public Radio’s Tanya Koonce reports:
