This week, we're talking with Debra Mielke of the Illinois Art League, about their annual membership show, which is on display at the Time Gallery in East Peoria.

The exhibit features over 100 pieces, submitted by 57 different League members. Awards will be presented at an opening reception, Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon.

This week, we're talking Dawn Maloney from the Time Gallery in East Peoria. Their current exhibit features a collection of mosaic Christmas cards by Rolan Johnson. The oversized cards were screen-printed, and sent to a limited number of recipients over a span of about 30 years. Maloney talks about the meticulous process that went into creating the cards, and about the subject matter they depict.

The exhibit will be on display through December 29th at the Time Gallery. 201 Clock Tower Drive in East Peoria.

This week, we're talking with photographer Natalie Jackson O'Neal, about her exhibit, "Crowns of Empowerment." The exhibit is inspired by her interest in fashion magazines of the 1940s to 1960s. Noticing that those magazines generally excluded black women. O'Neal set about creating a series of her own photographs, featuring models dressed in vintage clothes juxtaposed with allusions to the history of the civil rights struggle. She talks about the process of creating the exhibit, and about where and how she found her models.
