Kohlbuss to resign from Tri-County Regional Planning Commission

The longtime executive director of the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission will resign his post.  A separation agreement with the commission states that Terry Kohlbuss will resign at the end of next March, but shall no longer perform any duties or report to work effective immediately.

Tri-County separation agreement remains murky

It’s been a week since the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission approved a separation agreement with its longtime executive director, Terry Kohlbuss. But the agreement is still not official. Details on any agreement won’t be made public until both parties sign-off.

Tri-County looking to extend borrowing power

The Tri-County Regional Planning commission is looking to extend its maximum line of credit to $300,000.  That’s a $200,000 increase from its current borrowing capacity with the Southside Bank. Board member Andrew Rand says the expanded credit line is important because of delayed state grant payments:

Official: transparency still lacking with FFCI

Focus Forward CI approved its bylaws as it transitions to an independent group.  The region's new economic development effort was originally a part of the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.  Tri-County chair Larry Whitaker was the only no vote against the bylaws.  He says the rules should specifically allow public attendance of FFCI meetings to be more transparent:

Quinn announces Civic Center improvements at Peoria stop

The Peoria Civic Center is getting some new seating in the Carver Arena with $2.6 million from the state. Governor Pat Quinn visited Saturday afternoon to make the capital funding announcement and sign legislation.

Tri-County committee to review executive director

The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission Board is forming a special committee to review and make recommendations regarding the employment of  executive director Terry Kohlbuss.  The decision comes after commission members met in executive session multiple times in recent months.  Many of those meetings lasted over an hour each, and did not include the attendance of Kohlbuss.  A meeting date for the personnel committee has not been set.
