SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois Treasurer's office plans to auction unclaimed property at this year's Illinois State Fair.

Some items are rare and interesting. The office says it will have a rookie card of late Chicago Cubs star Ernie Banks, an 1856 flying eagle cent and an Elvis Presley concert stub. There's also a Cartier watch and a pair of new 1997 Air Jordan shoes.

A department of Illinois state government got some favorable attention today.

The Office of State Treasurer visited the George Washington Carver Community Center in Peoria to highlight the nearly $19,000 the center received through the unclaimed property division.

The funds are a residual balance from a foundation, started by a renowned comedian and Peoria native.

During the announcement, State Treasurer Michael Frerichs stood in front of the same stage where Pryor first performed as a teenager.

The Illinois Treasurer’s office is making a couple of stops in Central Illinois Thursday and Friday to help reunite people with lost money and property.
